Standing By

Professor Zero’s hearing has ended. Barring any untoward or unforeseen events, she should be released from the Castle tomorrow. She is really, really tired of discussing Reeducation, and bored. She is not even angry any more. She is channelling Michel de Montaigne to remind us that the savage world may be more civilized than ours, which spawned Reeducation.

Professor Zero is allowed out of the Castle to go to work. Her last class on Tuesdays meets at 2 PM, after which she has office hours. Students in this class have requested that it change its venue to the university pool, which is surrounded by large tables and umbrellas.

Professor Zero has agreed to move her office hour to another time so that the class really can be held there. She is not at all uncomfortable with this and does not find it inappropriate. Her reading of blogs, however, suggests that her view of this matter is rather unusual.

  1. Unfortunately not unless you get a party catered, rent the whole pool for your organization, something like this! A Castle, this now sounds vaguely familiar … but I was thinking of Kafka’s castle primarily 😉 !
