Viaje a Aztlán

This is from the Codex Boturini and I found it on Wikipedia. Moctezuma I tried to find out where Aztlán was and so did the 16th century Fray Diego Durán.

People have been working on this ever since; Aztlán could have been near Florida, or at a Mississippian site in Wisconsin, or somewhere north of the Colorado River, or in Nayarit. It could have been the area around what is now Lake Powell, it could be at Mesa Verde, and it could be in central Mexico, north of Tenochtitlan.

Seven Nahuatl-speaking peoples emerged from seven caves in a place called Chicomoztoc, and this might have been near a volcano in Guanajuato. After leaving the caves, these peoples settled in a place called Aztlán.

Axé.

    1. A nice but convoluted puzzle!. A little deteriorated with the passing of time but still very well done.
