Venturing beyond the garden wall this evening I saw a live set by a girl band. It was fantastic, and that is all I will say, since further information would permit you to detect my precise location, at least for those two hours.
I have a crush now on one of the singers, wicked thing that I am. HAH! I threw that out to make fun of those readers who are overly concerned about my identity, mean girl that I am. Who, oh who, could I be? Does my real life voice resemble my writing voice here? Dear, oh dear. One thing I can definitely say is that this weblog has no ghostwriter. And we are all fluctuating signifiers. And for current purposes, this is my true picture.
Speaking seriously now, one of my students has discovered and brought my attention to a book, How Our Lives Become Stories, which I want to get. Others interested in life narration, may want to see it as well.
Axé.
The ‘negotiation of reality’ – and in the context of this post, such thing acquires a literary character – is a commonly understood sociological concept. By negotiating reality, one creates the distinction between the ‘I’ and the ‘Me’ – a duality which allows thecreation of life as a story. Existentialists enjoy stuff like that.
Thanks Charlie – I know, it’s commonly understood, except by anonymous and semi-anonymous trolls on blogs … whose antics I am trying (if clumsily) to make light of here. 😉 –Z
Not at all clumsily, Z. It’s me being clumsy, I have no doubt. Apologies.
Professor, I accept you just the way your are. *wink*
If I read this correctly you are so naughty. 🙂 Peace~
Blog posts are also part of the fictions that we create. Thanks for alerting me to this important book.
