Postmodern

In case you do not know, Barack Obama is on Facebook and if you are on Facebook, you can Poke him, send him Messages, and invite him to be your Friend. I have Poked him and invited him to be my Friend. I am hoping he will accept. I know that in non-Facebook parlance, “poke” means “tap” which means “tirarse a [alguien]” and no, I did not do any of that.

Dennis Kucinich, my actual candidate still, does not appear to be on Facebook. This is a difference between the two campaign strategies.

Axé.

  1. I need to find my middle school art teacher… He is very talented but nowhere to be found.

    Facebooker? Wow!

It’s the postmodern campaign strategy, it seems – and I guess it’s also a reach-out for the student vote! –Z

  2. what i find to be interesting- the politicians who allegedly are reaching out to the bloggers and internet- don’t have folks designing websites that are interactive. by that i mean- blog buttons and stuff that is easy to use and find. i was going through the list of left leaning presidential candidates- and john edwards was the only one- at that time- to have anything remotely user friendly to bloggers. they really need to get with the program. their ‘constiuents’ are light years ahead. i like kucinich too- and i know that he has a snowball’s chance in hell of winning anything. people of integrity do not good politicians make.

  3. OK Tasneem, I did it, that was me! 🙂 Betmo – on user friendly internets, yes. It seems that everyone old or in authority is like that. My department, for instance, thinks their website is like an electronic pamphlet or poster, not something people might actually use.

Kucinich, integrity, I know. He is also not flashy enough. However, Barack is, especially now that he has a black felt wide-brimmed hat. Check it out in the Texas Observer. He looks like a Louisiana man in this hat, and it sits well on him!
