Kærnemælkskoldskål

The Azgoddess does not eat soup, as it is so hot in Arizona. There are cold fruit soups in Sweden, and there is gazpacho in Andalusia, but there is also the Danish kærnemælkskoldskål or “cold bowl of buttermilk,” a summer dessert. It sounds utterly strange, but it is very good.

1 egg
1/4 cup sugar
1 quart buttermilk
1 banana, sliced
1 apple, chopped
1 orange, chopped
1 handful raisins
juice and grated rind of 1/2 lemon

Beat up egg with whisk, and beat sugar into it. Add buttermilk and stir; add lemon juice and rind; stir again. Add fruits. Chill, enough to get really cold and to give the raisins time to soften. Serves 4.

We must eat some of this to gain strength, so as to read and agitate about prison conditions and their misrepresentation for and in the media.

Axé.

  1. Gracias! 🙂 And continuing the discussion on height, yes, lots of Native Americans are tiny like your grandmother and lots of French people too, and when you get both in the same region, you and I are average if not tall. There are a lot of girls here just under 5′.
