Supporting the Troops

[I]nstead of sending Town to a medical board and discharging him because of his injuries, doctors at Fort Carson, Colorado . . . claimed Town’s wounds were actually caused by a “personality disorder.” Town was then booted from the Army and told that under a personality order discharge, he would never receive disability or medical benefits. Town is not alone.

Axé.

  1. Today was probably not the best day for me to read this…having had a very chaotic day at my MSW field placement (a county mental health facility), where I work as an unlicensed clinician with people with all sorts of mental health conditions. When I am not so tired and stressed out I am much more articulate.

In this moment I resort to the gut-level reaction I have to reading this news:

You must be f*ing kidding me.

Surely someone who works in VA administration could have come up with some better excuse to screw our soldiers than to blame a personality disorder.

This is so disgraceful and disgusting I don’t even know what more to say.
