Y la última gota

“There is something very fundamentally wrong with you and the proof of it is that you do not see it.” That is the kernel version of the Reeducated message and it is why I became afraid to even move, and wanted to get to another planet entirely.

At the same time the opposite cant was: “Any serious consideration of your work or planning of it is mere perfectionism, you should not look and arrange, you should not waste work time reading, you should just blindly say something and wait for someone else to revise it — then follow their instructions.”

There is no self respect allowed in either of these sentences, I note, and no authority is allowed; both sentences are designed to prevent one from moving about one’s workshop. I find both sentences utterly terrorizing.

I cannot tell if this project is going to be good, new, or right, or whether it has flashes of insight or is merely poorly informed. I do not really understand why one is expected to know such things at this stage. I thought research was the work undertaken to find out.

Axé.
