This is of course the 82d anniversary of the founding of the 2d Spanish Republic on 14 April 1931. In Madrid today it is sunny and there are crowds at the Puerta del Sol and elsewhere waving Republican flags. It seems there is a tv minisseries on the Republic on RTVE; this is the poster for the demonstration today in Miranda del Ebro. The more one looks at the 1936-1939 civil war in Spain the more important it reveals itself to be.
