Notes on the “Western” subject

The people raised in Christianity and to some extent the other religions of that Book have a psychology to which I do not relate. I do not understand it but it involves in part an exaggerated respect for, or or on the other hand scorn of authorities, instructions, and rules. This, I suppose, is patriarchal.

There is also that Western, cogito-derived Subject, which is patriarchal as well. These are the structures to which psychotherapy, and much else, seem to be oriented, what they expect. It is becoming slowly evident to me that the lack of a certain religious upbringing may have made me a non-Western subject, at least to some degree.

Axé.
