90-100: good grammar, good content
80: has the required length and has both content and a concept of grammar
60: you appear to have read, and you are writing, but only a little and with many errors
50: you appear to have read, but you are not able to write in a way someone who didn’t speak English would understand
20: you wrote, but not in Spanish
This grading scale has been developed to enable as many students as possible to pass. In the past the grades between 90 and 100 would have been between 80 and 100, good and very good. the 80 grade would have been a 70 or less. And so on. I am thinking of going back to that, I’m tired of this being the course that has to pass people.
