Got My Mojo Working

Here is Muddy Waters with some friends we may recognize by now, circa 1963. I saw Junior Wells perform this song in the 1990’s, but I have not found a video of him singing it as well as he did that day.

At this point I really am sitting on the couch and leaning into that ice pack. The Blues Carnival will be continued at intermittent moments throughout this week!

Axé.

  1. Sorry to hear about your situation. That doesn’t sound like much fun, but you’ve managed to take care of your faithful readers anyway. Impressive.

I’ve spent a lot of the last 24 hours creating a syllabus for a course I’ve not only never taught, I’ve never taken (and had no desire to take), so that wasn’t much fun either. But it’s finally done and I really like it after all. (Wonder how that happened? Maybe it was the music.)

It’s been nice to duck over here periodically and get a little boost, especially since my trip up north finally caught me with the cold it’s been trying to deliver all week. Sigh. Oh, well. Muddy’s got his mojo workin’. And that bass player does, too. ;^)

  2. Great music. Laughed at the stiff audience though :o) Hope you’re feeling better today

  3. Watching this reminds me of the time I tried to explain to my mother about blues music. I was naive enough to believe that anyone alive in the 1960s would know what I was talking about. Finally, in exasperation, she remembered hearing the name of Muddy Waters before; but she still didn’t understand. Oh well.
