Rosemary Rainey
Ma Rainey‘s birthday was April 26, and she would have been 101. Here she is as played by her granddaughter Rosemary on “Freight Train Blues,” in an excerpt from the film Travelin’ Trains (Eric Mofford, 1988, the story of a young man who tracks down his wandering father during the Depression).

Oh, I am so thrilled to find out that Ma Rainey’s first name was Rosemary!
Hers was Gertrude! It’s her granddaughter (here in the video) who is Rosemary!
