A. I dreamed and woke up with a three paragraph poem about this in my head, with interesting characters and good images, but it is gone and I do not have time to reconstruct it. Some practical thoughts learned from the poem, about abusive relationships. This is more or less how they proceed:
1. You are the most wonderful person I have ever met and the most important thing in my life.
2. The world is a terrible place. It depresses me. It would depress you if you were perceptive enough to see it for what it is. I need you.
3. There is something wrong with you.
4. The world is a terrible place, and there is something wrong with you, but I love you despite your flaws. I will protect you from the horrors of the world, and I need you, because without you my life has no meaning.
5. If you leave, you will only discover that I am the kindest person you have ever met. You will be on the streets with nothing. You will wish yourself back.
B. I had another dream in which I was eating an excellent omelette with fresh fines herbes from the garden, olive oil and sweet butter, from a cast iron omelet pan. But I had not served it at the table. I had pulled a chair up to the stove. I was sitting in a director’s chair, using the stove as a table, and eating with a sterling fork from a cast iron pan.

The book looks really interesting.
