My post entitled Henry Miller generated about 400 hits, twice as high as my usual average and almost my “best” day ever. I wondered whether people clicked on it expecting pornography and Geoffrey Philp thought they might have. He suggested I might follow up with a post entitled Anaïs Nin, so I am.
If I were a serious person, I would find commentary on writing by Anaïs Nin to go with my Miller post. We could compare and contrast them even, as in class. Since I am not a serious person I present instead a clip from Last Tango in Paris. (Not the rape scene.)
“I will let you know how many hits I get now,” said Professor Zero, grinning evilly. I have never actually seen this film, and the clip is intriguing. I may order it.
Axé.
This is not getting many hits.
I couldn’t view this one yesterday. “Sorry this pages does not exist” kept popping up.
That’s because it wasn’t supposed to be published until today! I don’t publish at the moment I write, although people aren’t supposed to know this. One post a day comes up, in this fiction it is that I write one post a day.
as you can tell, I have begin the Miller/Nin experiment. I’ll keep you posted.
Well, I got almost 500 hits today, my best day ever – although from what I can tell it wasn’t caused by the Miller/Nin caper. HMMMM.
Oh dear, that must have been me. I have had a bit of “free time,” and have been reading through your archives for absurdly long periods of time. Though not the worst way to procrastinate, I fear I have meddled with you experiment.
well, it was a wash-out on mine. I get more with Richard Russo or Joyce Carol Oates. ah well.
atheistwoman, so one person can do this, I hadn’t thought of that, it’s funny! RG, I guess it didn’t work for either of us: to get lots of hits, it’s more useful to get a few individuals interested in reading the archives!
Maybe you should have gone with Last Tango of Paris Hilton, Anais Nin, Henry Miller, Pamela Anderson, Tommy Lee, and Britney Spears!
The xclamation point is the seller
G – lol! “The xclamation point is the seller” Really? How should I use it? I want to push my hit count way up so I can get more (lucrative) advertising …
My only advice is not to overdo it. Those xclamation points can be tricky if they are not used properly.
So what do you do – write X! at the end of each post title or something?
hidden html: Derek Walcott Nude xxx!
OH I see !!! Now that is slightly evil … but I could do it as an experiment !!! 🙂
I have done it, to the Modification post (the current post as I write this). If you view the source you will see it says Emanuelle Béart nude xxx! It is a tech experiment, folks!
Hope it works!
Anais Nin’s work, she said, is the wife of Henry Miller’s work. And it is so. And like any marriage, it had its passionate, explosive interaction, and its alienation. There is little question about the affect each had on the other. On my Nin blog (http://www.skybluepress.com/blog.html) I try to examine Nin from a (gasp) factual point of view. I am definitely (and already have) made Miller an intregal part of the mix. Hope you can visit sometime. In the meantime, I appreciate what you do here.
Jamas ha leido usted al escritor Phillip Roth, especificamente su libro ingenio, ‘Portnoy’s Complaint?’ Creo que le interesa.
Siii, pero ?por que lo dice Vd.? Eso me interesa. 🙂
