A. C. Sandino

Thinking of what we could sing this weekend, I reviewed many beautiful Mexican videos I could use to celebrate my escape from Spain. I concluded that the best thing I could sing was from A. C. Sandino: I am in receipt of your message from yesterday and I understand it. I will not surrender and I await you here. I want a free country or death. I am not afraid of you; I count on the patriotic ardor of my companions. For the homeland and for liberty. A. C. Sandino.

But to be frivolous and to sing of love, and because there is nobody like a Mexican, we will listen to Irma Vila and her mariachi. For I am dark and I am pure Veracruz, and you are beautiful and bewitching, like the candor of a rose.

Axé.
