I liked this novel; I found it well done and well written. The characters have real mettle and depth and are serious, so I like them; I must be a serious or earnest person.

I’d say you’re pretty serious. How I wish I read Spanish. German’s good for what’s going on now, though. The coverage of Copenhagen is excellent in the German press.
I could use a few 100 yrs of solitude.

Funny, I was thinking I could use about 100 years of an actually good marriage, but perhaps 100 years of actual solitude, not just isolation from sane people, is closer to what I want.
No problem re misreading. I am exhausted and I misread things all the time.
