I gave up and uninstalled it, and I disabled Windows Defender. This is all a lot of trouble and the program I am trying to install still will not install.
Also, all customer service people are named things like Gilbert and Gabriel. I don’t believe it’s possible these are their real names.
Finally, a customer service person with the other common name (among virtual IT men) of Adam came and took control of my mouse, from India. He did all sorts of things and now Carbonite works, so I am reinstalling the other programs. It was amazing to see the mouse moving and typing, like a ghost!
During all of this I was at least listening to WWOZ and KPFA, wirelessly!
