Linux

It is really difficult to make carpenters, of which I really need one, come to one’s house. I have calls out to three or four and apparently I am just not exciting enough.

My desire to upgrade things is such that I am tempted, while waiting, to buy a Linux box. I would buy from ZaReason, Inc., so I am advertising them.

In reality, I believe that since I cannot upgrade my house, I will go and have the car worked on, which also needs it.

Regarding computers, I believe I may procrastinate by transferring everything that is on the Vista box to this XP box. Then I will send that machine off for whatever it needs.

I am tired of having three different computers — a desktop in the office, a large laptop, and an emergency miniature laptop — with different data on each one.

There are systems whereby one keeps all of one’s files on line and I believe I need one.

Axé.

    1. P.S. Backing things up is its own problem because I have about 35 years worth of files and they are hard to organize since at this point, they are a collage of things from different computers. All of this is both dull and frightening, but must be done.

  1. I am boring, bored, and desperate! I must go to the gym! I hate having too many paper files, but having too many computer files may be worse!

  2. Dropbox seems to be easy. I just got on it last night, so I’m not sure yet. There’s some way for me to link you there and get credit, but I don’t know how yet.

    It’s free for 2 G. $100 a year for 50G.
