One of the reasons I come to Mexico is to go to the luxurious Cine Lumière Reforma and see new Latin American and international film. I was excited to get to see a recent Bolivian film but did not discover until the end that the director and some of the actors were in the audience. Here is an interview with the director. Here is a review in English.
Axé.
What was that Argentine movie about the woman who falls on hard times and ends up living in the country with her maid?
I am so bad on movies these days. I don’t watch TV either.
I think I need to get serious about learning Spanish.
I wish I knew what that film was! That is something the lady of the house in this film suggests to the butler at one point when she is worried about money.
Knowing Spanish is an advantage, for sure — it gets you into a whole new world. I just tried, for the first time, to imagine myself not knowing Spanish. I wouldn’t be me, I realized!
Oh, I must see this film! How great to see it in a cinema.
And in this truly excellent cine, which has a blogspot: http://lumierereforma.blogspot.com/
Now I’ve seen EL SECRETO DE TUS OJOS which will not come to Louisiana. http://www.blogacine.com/2009/11/20/el-secreto-de-tus-ojos-un-plano-secuencia-fuera-de-serie/
