Of course, I should have saved this for October 2, but I’m working on classes for the next week or two and this came up. Off topic, of course, is that on October 2, 2011, my cat will have been gone for 7 months. September 2 is the six month anniversary of it. These things have nothing to do with anything except … dates matter in all these ways … my cat was born August 29, 2000 and his fifth birthday brought us Hurricane Katrina, and we are coming up on our sixth anniversary of that now.

I don’t know what happened to my cat, but if he was killed I suppose it wasn’t different from the deaths of those Lorca characters.
