  1. B. told me that when David Duke run against Edwin Edwards for governor of Louisiana in 1992, there were bumper stickers that read: “Vote for the Crook.”

  2. It was “Vote for the crook – it’s important.” I had one; phone banked for Edwards and drove people to the polls in a “stop Duke” car; picked Dan Balderston up who was stranded near the Federal building for some reason and who helped wave the “stop Duke” signs.

    Now my Congressman’s wife is in my ceramics class. One day her news was that her uncle had gotten out of jail – and her uncle turned out to be Edwin Edwards (the crook in question).
