St. Francis of Assisi

I unexpectedly saw the inauguration of the live Nativity at 4:30 PM, 23 December 2011, at the shrine of St. Francis of Assisi at Columbus and Vallejo in San Francisco. There were four angels, three shepherds, two goats, two lambs, one llama, one donkey, and one Holy Family with a live baby. Outside was an Arabian style man with an Asian cameloid, very nice. I got blessed with the peace of St. Francis, with real holy water and everything.

Axé.

  1. It was only the second time they had had this Nativity, which was invented by St. Francis. They were also inaugurating a replica of the original shrine in Assisi. It has one of the stones from Italy in it.

  2. Wonderful. Makes me homesick, a little. All that stuff is nice, as long as you don’t worry about believing in it.
