Clarissa: “More maturity to have a child than to have an abortion” is my favorite statement of the week. The stupidity of these people is daunting.
I actually meant less maturity — you need less maturity to have a child than to have an abortion, which is why if you are underage a judge needs to decide whether you are mature enough to decide not to have a child, and if not, whether an abortion is in your best interests.
I don´t know that this is stupidity; I think it may be abusiveness. They´re being illogical and forcing others to swallow that. And it is all so obviously voyeuristic and invasive; these people will do whatever they can to get into a teenager´s body, it would seem.
This post is being created because in an interesting technological twist, Clarissa´s comment appeared on a post to which I had once given a title, but then never written.

That´s the mystery. It was the title of some post I never wrote, and didn´t realize had traces in the ether! I can´t remember what it was about but I suspect I was going to make some wry comments on mestizaje (riffing on Van Morrison, Brown Eyed Girl).
