Southern hospitality

Last night at the football game, where I was because of my exchange student, one of the important guests was a very trailblazing and high achieving alumna, the highlights of whose resumé were read.

“Who cares,” chanted the crowd, “Who cares.” This alumna is a Black woman.

The chants of “Who cares” turned to boos as appointments this alumna has had under the Obama administration were read. She was standing on the field.

Axé.

  1. No surprise that the first state to post a succession petition on “We the people” whitehouse website was Louisiana. I gather that they have received well over the twenty five thousand signatures required for a response.

  2. I should point out that it wasn’t the full crowd, just a group around me, who chanted who cares? … it didn’t really get loud until Obama was mentioned. Still. With an almost all Black football team, too, and their parents in the audience and so on. I have rarely seen anything so rude.

I keep moving this to the top of the blog so it is seen.

  3. Did you see the video of the riot on the University of Mississipi campus after Obama’s re-election was announced on Nov. 6?
