I am glad I am staying home all break because I have so much to do. The reason I stayed up all night in the office last Friday was to inhabit it.
People convinced me to stay in academia without understanding, although I explained patiently, that I had left in spirit long ago. They convinced me I had to stay in body so I did, and this forced my spirit to haunt it.
Now I am seriously trying to inhabit it. As I say I will grade in the office, all papers all in a row. Then I will download Scrivener, learn it, and put all of my files in order.

I will work on the house. It needs to stop raining because paint and sealing are really necessary. I want certain pieces of outdoor furniture and office furniture but I will paint and seal. I want to have the garbage disposal repaired but I will have gutters. I will finish the indoor painting that has been languishing for eighteen months before I acquire any object, and I will clear out old things. I do not keep many clothes or fill the house with furniture and crockery, but I keep files; sometimes I go through these files.

I will acquire the books for my courses and read them again, so I know how to teach them. I will create syllabi and make final papers due the week before the last week.
In the last week we will have some activity like presentations and presentation quizzes. By and large I will not be participating in final examinations week this spring.
