Last week I completed required ethics training, in which I was taught what a bribe was and informed I should not take these. At the same time a distinguished professor at my university, one who sits in an endowed chair, was arrested during a drug sweep at a strip club here. He had just hired a prostitute, with whom he had gone into a back room. She had cost him $150, of which she owed a third to the house.
Something like this happens every year at least, but the more common issues are embezzlement and sexual harassment of students. One morning, though, I came to campus to find my male colleagues outdoors looking concerned. They had been to the strip club the night before and the performers had been women in their classes, and they were now about to go teach those classes.
Axé.
