Now that the renters are gone I have been sleeping in the better bedroom. I dreamed that the bed was on posts above the bayou, like a camp. It was spring with birds on eggs, alligators swimming and turtles jumping. When I woke up the water was high, almost high enough to sweep me away, and it was teeming with large fish. I got up and began eyeing them. There were all too many.
At this point my exchange student, who looks vaguely like Botticelli’s Flora, came in. She and I one day in real life bought the same jeans and the same rubber boots, and she was wearing these. I was still barefoot, dangling my feet in the water. With our hands we pulled up redfish and drum, large and fat. We laid them on the mattress as though it were a pier. We felt very satisfied to be getting this done.
Interpretation: this is a dream about work, creativity, and the retrieval of what lies below the water. In it, what lies below is clearly not invisible and not out of reach.
