Militant Hispanist

I had been threatening to use this as a blog title. It would require writing an avant-garde manifesto. Once coldhearted scientist has served its purpose, I may change.

I have rejoined the Revista Iberoamericana although this journal is one of the things we do still receive at our library; I have rejoined IAS and I am trying to make the websites work such that I can rejoin ERIP. If I do that I will get LACES, which I need. I have acquired a copy of the article in the Journal of Social History, to which we turn out to have access, after all, through Project Muse. 45:3 (Spring 2012): 709-734. Anglo-American (Mis)interpretations of a French-Caribbean Phenomenon is its subtitle.

I will finish my abstract and then send the second version — in Spanish, and using material that may not fit in the first version — to ERIP on March 30, and the article in Spanish can be for LACES or RI. I will post my revised NEH application — yes, it is being revised and expanded since it will become a book prospectus — to my website. I will post my other abstracts there as well.

I still need a copy of the Fernando de Lemos book. This author appears to have carlista leanings, para colmo.

Axé.

  1. I have succeeded in joining ERIP. I must remember to put the information on the CONDE DE LEMOS into my Lyx document, it is important.

  2. You may be interested in the LIO at http://www.libertarianinternational.org

The guy who runs it founded the modern world Libertarian movement, and is I believe champion of the De Lemos clan. The LIO honors oddball scholars, and he seems to know a lot about strange corners of history, he may have info for you.
