Constructing and resisting modernity

I would quite like to see this book. I really should not buy books but we do not have them in the library. They have it at Rice.

We can not only construct and resist Spanish modernity; we can also visualize it, and that book would also be fun to read.

Axé.

  1. I know the Susan Larson book. She came to give a talk in Kansas a few years ago (at my invitation). Intellectually, I don’t find a lot of that book all that stimulating, although it is fun and interesting as far as it goes. The other one is something I’ll have to check out.

    1. I want it for general knowledge and classes. It is irritating not to have a library. Going to the library at Rice would make the trip tax deductible … ILL is not right for this, I want to have it available or else sit down and read it at a sitting, so I can ILL the relevant pieces later.
