This documentary includes clips from the first Soviet color film, and other color footage from the 1939-1945 war. I have not seen it all, but it is interesting, especially as we have now entered permanent war. There is footage of Japanese-Americans entering their concentration camps as well.
I should be going to Twelve Years a Slave, the movie, but I have read the book and I do not want to see and hear torture scenes. Not wanting to do this does not mean I am a slavery denier, and I do think that for teaching purposes and general reasons having to do with being up on current culture, I should see this film.
