I am studying current terminology and I have a comment on demiromantic. “Demiromantic: an individual who does not experience romantic attraction until after a close emotional bond has been formed.” THIS is what one is always taught is healthy and wise. Especially girls are supposed to be like this. There’s demisexual too, and sexuality and romance are supposed to be clearly distinct.
Again, demisexual and demiromantic are how you are SUPPOSED TO BE in conventional society, from what I’ve always been told. In what way are these hairsplitting definitions NOT retrograde / conservative? In what way do they NOT support conventional sexualities and gender stereotypes? YES, I know they are supposed to be avant-garde and clarifying, but I don’t think they do a very good job of it.
