I was going to recycle this clean and complete photocopy but there isn’t a good online edition and the book isn’t easily available elsewhere. I love the author, Roberto Schwarz. I did not realize the title comes form a Kafka story, or that Diderot has a play by this title (that I should read).
In any case, this book includes the essays “O cinema e Os Fuzis,” “Nota sobre vanguarda e conformismo,” “Cultura e política, 1964-1969,” “Anatol Rosenfeld, um intelectual estrangeiro,” and more.
What I can recycle is the conference volume that includes Jean Franco’s “La ‘desautorización’ de la voz poética en dos poemas de Vallejo,” a classic text. There are other seminal pieces in there, but one can get them.
I still wish I had managed not to give up Vallejo, or not to give up work, during that period. But I lost the ability to speak.
Axé.
