Still on that topic

I wonder if my exasperation with the non-disabled students who claim to have a personality or “learning style” making it impossible for them to do the work in Spanish 4 has to do with repressed anger at an administration who also claims to be impaired and require indulgence. I mean, they’re encumbered and limited by the awful government (that they may have voted for), I know. And they’re dishonest and chronically corrupt, I understand. But their line about how they are doing all of this because they are poor, mistreated Cajuns, and deserve a pass because of that, is beyond the pale.

I also note I’m one of the most severe victims of this gambit. I mean, others suffer it and complain of it, even at other institutions here. But the narrative emanates from my department and I am one of its most immediate victims–and the only one who survived. Other people have experiences similar to mine, but I have undergone one of the most severe versions and so I am one of the most traumatized. It is why people who have not experienced it say I exaggerate. But I don’t, I just went through worse tortures than they did.

Axé.
