I’m going to have some self-respect this semester. That is the most fundamental thing the Cajuns took from me. I’m taking it back. YES my field has validity, YES I am a valid person, NO I am not ashamed to be research faculty, NO I am not oppressing you. YES I believe in shared governance and transparency, and YES I believe in treating everyone with dignity. I know from experience that you do not, but I do, and I will not be moved. I will not be shamed by you for being an intellectual current in field this time. I will not let you tell me I am not a real person for ONE SINGLE MINUTE this time.
