…is not to have every single course be an experiment. It was not this way earlier on, it is only the past ten years, everything has to be an experiment, nothing is ever right, and everything is always being done the for the first time.

And my rant: teaching foreign languages in the basic sequence is torture, especially when you have no input on the textbook and no good information on how other sections are being taught, what is being done, what expectations actually are, and so on. I _so_ feel like an adjunct and it is _so_ defeating.
Novelty! revolutionary! We need a different brand of soap suds!
