Dat Whiteman

He informeth me that if I were yet more silent and proper than I already am, the bully of our subunit would not be moved to bully us all.

He realizeth not that it was due to my silence and proper behavior that this bully was able to take over our subunit the way he did.

But it is the weekend, and we will sing. Wear white for Friday.

Axé.

  1. It is never about morality, always about power. That is the underlying logic of institutional social relations.

But temporarily I am an idiot, and caught up in a sea of intertextuality, as well as seeing myself from without and within.

“And the blindness of the blind one, and his seeking and groping, shall yet testify to the power of the sun into which he hath gazed,–did ye know that before?”–Nietzsche

“We grope like the blind along a wall, feeling our way like people without eyes. Even at brightest noontime, we stumble as though it were dark. Among the living, we are like the dead.”–Isaiah 59:10

“and you will grope at noon, as the blind man gropes in darkness, and you will not prosper in your ways; but you shall only be oppressed and robbed continually, with none to save you.” Deuteronomy 28:29

    1. Yes re power not morality, and that is important to remember.

These quotations are amazing re that and the intertextuality is stunning indeed.

    1. Group grope? Go USA!

In my above quotes what is interesting is the idea of guilt/fatigue/loss and how it is understood in different contexts. With Nietzsche man it seems to be related to daring to adventure beyond the range of conventional mores. With old testament guys it is related much more directly to sinning against the guy in the sky with a beard. The results are the same, but the interpretation is very different.

  2. Had a great dream last night. There was this young girl. I taught her how to run and she learned how to increase speed to break the binds of the patriarchy. She had dust on her cheeks, which were also dry from the stress of the combat, and she thanked me for giving her the understanding, and I kissed her three times on the cheeks. Then we ran past the militia-man who was on our path, and our legs were like powerhouses propelling us past him, so that he was not able to make us stop. Then the whole double story house above us began to collapse. Victoria Falls appeared above us, with so many powerful torrents causing everything to collapse inwards, and a black Zimbabwean woman said, “The new society will appear in the womb of the old.”

    1. My God, that is a great dream. !!! I hope the new society does that. It also seems you need to spend more time in Zimbabwe than just the upcoming voyage.
