Edie Brickell

One thing that has been nice for me this summer is the weather. I have been unable to travel other summers when it has been dark, humid, and rainy. This year has been less humid and very luminous.

I have not taken advantage of the good weather as well as I could have, but I have enjoyed it and I have been (and am) grateful. I am grateful because it has been so beautiful, and also because there could still be a hard rain.

Axé.

  1. I love your taste in music! You’ve exposed me to so many artists that I’ve never heard of.

  2. We will soon have Khattak dance on this blog and that really rocks. But for truly serious musical and political information you should friend my friend X on Facebook (where I am of course Z). 😉

  3. I’m not on facebook, so I’ll just keep relying on you to showcase good stuff on this blog. I don’t think I’ve ever seen the name Aziz juxtaposed with Krishna. Interesting name you have there.

  4. It was my cat! I liked to fantasize that he was from points East, just never could figure out exactly where. So I gave him names from two religions and invented a last name I meant to sound vaguely Turkish. I’ve edited the comment to hide the names but I’m serious, that guy is on Twitter too with his same music posts, and he is more advanced than I (albeit in the same direction) in both music and news!

Do you think I still dare put up music in the current copyright situation? I think a lot of what I do put up isn’t copyrighted / the people wouldn’t care, and it is my understanding that the first thing they do is tell you to knock it off … although that’s taking it as a civil, not a criminal matter!

  5. Yeah, that’s my understanding, too. They’ll warn you the first few times before taking any action. So, keep on truckin’!
