I am of course also an aggregator of just a few Italian songs.
It has come to me that of persons from the past about whom I know nothing, Monteverdi might be fun to meet. I am guessing we could speak in some form of Romance, and go out to hear raucous music. It is, after all, Carnival time.

And, after all that thought about ships yesterday, I started to wonder what it would be like to meet Columbus and his crew. I think it might be scary, especially if one met them as they were at sea — it would be sort of like meeting characters out of La Celestina, right? Do you think one could communicate with a late medieval ruffian like that, or would it be easier than I suspect? I am not talking about the language, I am sure we could speak.
Last time I saw Columbus was in Barcelona 4-5 yrs ago, right there at the Plaza welcoming all ships from one side and from the other all people doing innumerable fun things at Las Ramblas.
Last time I saw part of Columbus crew was in 1994, Corpus Christi, Texas where I had the opportunity to see las “Santa Marîa, La Pinta y La Niña”.
