Here we are in December, rained out of a canoe and kayaking excursion and listening to a man from San Sebastián tell us his fascinating tale of life in the Louisiana swamps. He had come to practice for living in the Amazon, but he has stayed. I am the one sitting with crossed arms in the long-sleeved black shirt.
I would have looked less pained if I had not stayed up so late the night before, if we had not gotten so wet and cold, if we had not had to take cover so soon, and if we were not eating fried catfish at 10:30 A.M. These things having been said there is still a fashion issue. Will I look less boring if I get shorter bangs?
