See Ferreira da Silva 179-80 on Prospero and Caliban. Does this apply to the Reino de este mundo? To magical realism? That of course will have to be contrasted to what Coronil says about REM, which he likes. But still, I think this is very interesting.

Note also what she says on Gilroy–wanting to get rid of racial subjugation by denying difference, but not wanting to get rid of the Subject. My original amazement at the need, in Lat Am, to deny difference (only that way can you get to equality, they seem to say) + denial of difference means obliteration of the Other. Whereas in US we have exclusion/inclusion.
