Apalachicola and Carrabelle

I think I could go to the beach here. There is an old hotel where you can stay four nights for the price of three. The price of three is apparently $221 … for which I would get four … whereas two nights at my place in Houston comes to $234 … and in Houston I could see Picasso, but this would be beachy. On the way back I could have lunch in Mobile and spend a night in New Orleans.

Axé.

  1. I’m in NOLA for a couple weeks in June and was going to drive for the sake of being on the road until it turned out to be unaffordable. I was aiming for the Old Carrabelle Hotel, until I noticed another place in town which also has a pool and is about $10 cheaper. It’s the one on the wharf? I’m a sucker for a pool.

If you are NOLA-bound at all, I’m there 6/7-22. First couple days my bro and family from Gulfport should be around, then 14-21 collaboratively-designed writing retreat with Caribbeanist friends. We’ll be overcrowding a condo in the Marigny. If you’re planning to be in the hot city, we should drink an iced coffee or something…

    1. YES! I am probably not going to Carrabelle, just so I can save for California June 27, but N.O. is good. How do we get in touch? I might use this as an excuse to go to Ship Island which is off Gulfport. It would be a beach!
