The photocopy I am recycling today is of this book. I kept it for years because there was a time where it was the only text I knew of that would said:
“The subaltern needs expressive subjectivity, but radical Western intellectuals think expressive subjectivity is conservative / oppressive, and so on.”
THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH BLAMING EVERYTHING ON DESCARTES … and MERQUIOR in Prague to Paris, a book of this era, has things to say about this.
